Although today it is most normal to take a photo with the
mobile without thinking twice, the history of digital photography has had to go
through several phases of technological innovation.
In today's article, we review the evolution of digital photography, from the first camera to the mobile. We start!
Digital Photography: History of a Technological Revolution ... and Social
Decades ago, photography ceased to be an activity practiced
by very passionate professionals and amateurs. The twentieth century witnessed
the incorporation into the market of cameras with different formats designed
for the general public: light, comfortable to transport and, above all, easy to
use.
Among the best known are the famous Kodak cameras, Polaroid
snapshots, with the charm that characterizes them; or the disposables that we
have all taken to the beach, to name a few.
I still remember with excitement the wait to take the reel
to reveal ... and the uncertainty of knowing if in the photos you had left with
your eyes closed or with strange faces that you would prefer to hide forever in
a box in the storage room.
The First Digital Camera
Much has rained since then and there are generations for
which the photos revealed, the reels and the analog cameras will be gadgets
displayed in the window of a museum.
The seed of this revolution was planted in 1975 when Kodak
launched the first digital camera in history. What differentiated this camera
from the others was that it incorporated a CCD sensor, a digital image capture
system that dispenses with the chemical processes of analog photography.
This camera had dimensions similar to those of a toaster and
allowed to capture digital images with 0.01 megapixels. It took 23 seconds to
take the picture and you had to wait another 23 seconds to view it. We owe this
invention to Steven Sasson, who had the idea of incorporating this image
capture sensor into a camera.
"The first digital camera was a Kodak and was
manufactured in 1975"
From there, what are now the most powerful brands in the
market in digital photography (Sony, Nikon, Fujifilm, etc.), got to work to
perfect Mr. Sasson's work. Over time, they positioned themselves so well in the
photography market that they completely overthrew Kodak.
The manufacture of digital cameras evolved and increasingly
smaller, faster and better image quality models were created. To give you an
idea, of the 0.01 megapixels of the Kodak in 1975 we have gone to a whopping
102 megapixels, which is the quality achieved by the sensor of a Fujifilm
camera that was put up for sale last year.
In this race for innovation, digital photography also
hatched due to the democratization of the prices of DSLR or DSLR digital
cameras. These teams were more typical of professional photographers,
journalists or senior fans. But, with the advancement of technology, quality
cameras and lenses were achieved at affordable prices for the general public.
And in this context came the mobile phone with a camera,
which changed the rules of the game a lot.
Digital Photograph on the Mobile Phone
There is some controversy regarding which mobile
manufacturer was the first to incorporate a camera into the phone, but we can
place the launch of the first mobile phones with a camera in the year 2000 when
Samsung and Sharp put their new devices on sale.

These models were followed by others, each with better image
quality than the previous one. Do you remember Nokia, the brand that gave the
world the fun snake game that hooked so much? Well, between Nokia and Samsung
they disputed - and led - the market share of this type of mobile phone in the
late 2000s.
And then smartphones landed in our lives and revolutionized
the way we see and live photography, as well as communication. Social networks
play a decisive role in this since we use them to document different aspects of
our lives: travel, celebrations, gastronomic experiences and even our route to
work.
"The popularization of digital photography has been a
revolution thanks to social networks"
Now we do not blink at the time of taking a picture, we just
take the phone and with a simple click, we have a high-quality image. But then,
does this mean that anyone can devote himself to photography?
Of course, but taking photos with your mobile does not make
you an expert in photography. To perform the functions of a professional
photographer, it is necessary to learn the knowledge and techniques necessary
to move from amateur level to specialist status.

you!
Study with a Photography Course
Taking a picture is not just about pressing the shutter. To
get a good image you need to know various techniques, have notions of
composition, know how to combine colors and, very important, understand the
behavior of light. If your vocation is to dedicate yourself to this world in a
professional way, we recommend you to carry out specific training.
With a digital photography course, you will learn everything
related to the photographic equipment (types of cameras, tripod, and lenses,
flash); image capture techniques, photographic material management and, also,
its subsequent treatment and digital processing with specific software.
If curiosity is biting you, then follow your hunch and train
to get the job you truly want. We help you!
